Spyder Victor Paintball Gun
If you are looking for a low cost, basic paintball marker then the Spyder Victor paintball gun is an excellent choice. There are similar guns at a comparable price but the Victor has proven to be a reliable workhorse. It makes a good “beginner” gun but if you should, as so many have, become addicted to paintball then you are going to want something better.
The downside on the Spyder Victor paintball gun is that it comes up short on accuracy and is not as fast or consistent as more advanced players prefer. However, you will find it to be cheap, easy to use, and even upgradeable which is why it makes an excellent choice for the beginner.
Before investing a bunch of money in the sport it makes good sense to see if you like it well enough to sink more money into it. The Spyder Victor will give you a solid introduction without breaking the bank. And if it turns out that you only plan on playing occasionally, the Victor still makes a good investment. Just leave it in your closet until a you get a buddy invite and you’re ready to rock.
As previously mentioned you may want to upgrade your Victor with a barrel kit, electronic trigger frame, upgraded bolt, or custom grips. Actually if you are going to that expense you may find it more cost effective to move up to a more substantial intermediate gun.
The Victor comes in a variety of colors and styles with a new model hitting the market just about every year.
Kingman Spyder Victor Semi-Auto Paintball Marker
This gun is about as basic as it gets. The Kingman Spyder Victor Semi-Auto Paintball Marker is a great starter model. The Spyder Victor is now 15% lighter and 10% shorter, sporting a brand new look and feel. It also comes with a newly developed tool-free striker plug to alleviate the need for tools while performing basic maintenance on the marker. You should be able to get it for about $50.
Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set
For about $40 more you can get a bundled set which is billed as the Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set. In addition to the Victor marker, you also receive:
- 20-ounce tank with pin valve
- 200-round hopper
- Protective mask with visor and anti-fog lens
- Six 140-round tubes
- One-ounce Gold Cup oil
- Jerk squeegee
Skilled paintballers have learned to upgrade and modify their Victor markers to a point where they swear they can take on just about any other brand marker. Of course, how much of that is just talk and how much is real remains to be seen. The point is, however, that part of the fun of paintball is in the modification process. You can either search for manufactured add-ons or you can take a MacGyver approach. For those of you too young to know about MacGyver he was a TV hero in the 80s and 90s who could modify anything into a super weapon.
So, don’t put it off any longer. It’s time to man-up for a spirited game of paintball. And a Spyder Victor paintball gun is all you need to get started.
