If you are looking for a low cost, basic paintball marker then the Spyder Victor paintball gun is an excellent choice.  There are similar guns at a comparable price but the Victor has proven to be a reliable workhorse.  It makes a good “beginner” gun but if you should, as so many have, become addicted to paintball then you are going to want something better.

As previously mentioned you may want to upgrade your Victor with a barrel kit, electronic trigger frame, upgraded bolt, or custom grips.  Actually if you are going to that expense you may find it more cost effective to move up to a more substantial intermediate gun.

Skilled paintballers have learned to upgrade and modify their Victor markers to a point where they swear they can take on just about any other brand marker.  Of course, how much of that is just talk and how much is real remains to be seen.  The point is, however, that part of the fun of paintball is in the modification process.  You can either search for manufactured add-ons or you can take a MacGyver approach.  For those of you too young to know about MacGyver he was a TV hero in the 80s and 90s who could modify anything into a super weapon.
