Want to upgrade or repair your Spyder paintball gun but just don’t know where to start? Before you tear your gun apart and order Spyder paintball parts that you don’t need you should know that somebody had the forethought to put together a DVD to show you how to maintain your marker.

TechT Paintball Marker Maintenance DVD – Blowbacks 101

The DVD covers complete tear down, maintenance, cleaning, rebuild, advanced trouble shooting, leak detection, how to adjust your electronic trigger, and gives an overview of potential upgrades for your marker. The only downside is that the DVD is a little pricy at $25. But then again, it may well be worth it if you are not a skilled Mr. Fixit.

One of the first modifications that you may want to consider is to install a TechT Hush Bolt. It’s made for the Kingman Spyder Xtra, Victor, and Sonix. TechT’s Hush Bolt for Spyder markers utilizes a new “Even-Flow” venturi face technology which allows the Hush Bolt to obtain optimal efficiency, while also quieting the sound signature. The Spyder hush bolt is also much lighter which aids in reducing kick when firing the marker. By modifying your marker with the TechT Hush Bolt the result is a quieter, more air efficient, and more durable action.

Other popular Spyder paintball parts for upgrading include the Kingman MR Series Adjustable Stock and the CORE Spyder MR Series Aluminum Clamping Feedneck. The Clamping Feedneck mounts on your Kingman Spyder MR1, E-MR1 or MR2. It is used to replace the plastic elbow with a nearly indestructible aluminum feedneck so your day doesn’t end because of breakage. It also makes taking your loader on and off a breeze.

If you own a 09 Electra or Pilot Kingman marker an excellent upgrade is a Tadao Board for Kingman Spyder Electra and Pilot With EYE. The board produces 5 modes of fire (semi auto unlimited, semi auto 15bps, PSP ramp, Millennium Ramp, and 3 shot burst), an adjustable trigger debounce with 5 individual settings, and a forced shot feature. The board also comes with a tournament mode lock, battery status indicator, semi auto lock switch, and easy drop-in installation.

If paintball wars have taken their toll on your marker then you may need a Kingman replacement frame which, fortunately, is available and sells for about $40. You can even give your marker a tune-up with a Spyder Rap4 Spring Kit which gives you the capacity to adjust the velocity of your Spyder or Spyder clone marker. Each spring contained in the kit is used for changing velocity by 20 FPS, allowing you to accurately and consistently tune for indoor and outdoor velocity regulations and all types of weather conditions.

Of course, your needs may be more about repair than upgrade. Spyder does a great job of making factory replacement parts available. A simple online search will present you with just about everything you could possibly need.

Fix it, tune it, or upgrade you Spyder marker. Spyder paintball parts makes it all possible.

If you are looking for a low cost, basic paintball marker then the Spyder Victor paintball gun is an excellent choice. There are similar guns at a comparable price but the Victor has proven to be a reliable workhorse. It makes a good “beginner” gun but if you should, as so many have, become addicted to paintball then you are going to want something better.

The downside on the Spyder Victor paintball gun is that it comes up short on accuracy and is not as fast or consistent as more advanced players prefer. However, you will find it to be cheap, easy to use, and even upgradeable which is why it makes an excellent choice for the beginner.

Before investing a bunch of money in the sport it makes good sense to see if you like it well enough to sink more money into it. The Spyder Victor will give you a solid introduction without breaking the bank. And if it turns out that you only plan on playing occasionally, the Victor still makes a good investment. Just leave it in your closet until a you get a buddy invite and you’re ready to rock.

As previously mentioned you may want to upgrade your Victor with a barrel kit, electronic trigger frame, upgraded bolt, or custom grips. Actually if you are going to that expense you may find it more cost effective to move up to a more substantial intermediate gun.

The Victor comes in a variety of colors and styles with a new model hitting the market just about every year.

Kingman Spyder Victor Semi-Auto Paintball Marker

This gun is about as basic as it gets. The Kingman Spyder Victor Semi-Auto Paintball Marker is a great starter model. The Spyder Victor is now 15% lighter and 10% shorter, sporting a brand new look and feel. It also comes with a newly developed tool-free striker plug to alleviate the need for tools while performing basic maintenance on the marker. You should be able to get it for about $50.

Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set

For about $40 more you can get a bundled set which is billed as the Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set. In addition to the Victor marker, you also receive:

20-ounce tank with pin valve

200-round hopper

Protective mask with visor and anti-fog lens

Six 140-round tubes

One-ounce Gold Cup oil

Jerk squeegee

Skilled paintballers have learned to upgrade and modify their Victor markers to a point where they swear they can take on just about any other brand marker. Of course, how much of that is just talk and how much is real remains to be seen. The point is, however, that part of the fun of paintball is in the modification process. You can either search for manufactured add-ons or you can take a MacGyver approach. For those of you too young to know about MacGyver he was a TV hero in the 80s and 90s who could modify anything into a super weapon.

So, don’t put it off any longer. It’s time to man-up for a spirited game of paintball. And a Spyder Victor paintball gun is all you need to get started.

Get some paintball enthusiasts together and ask the question, “What’s the best paintball gun?” Then an argument will break out with everyone insisting that their favorite gun is superior to all the others. But generally, in the mix you will hear names like Angel, Tippman, and Spyder paintball guns. Within each of these major brands there are numerous paintball guns (markers) from which to choose. For beginner and intermediate player Spyder paintball guns have particular appeal.

Before getting into more of the details about the subject of this article, Spyder paintball guns, let’s take a look at how this crazy sport got started. In reality, paintball , as we know it, hasn’t been around all that long. The guns themselves predate the game by about 11 years. The first gun was actually developed in 1970 for forestry use as an easy method for marking trees… thus the name, “marker.” In 1981 somebody decided it was time to use the guns for sport.

Without a doubt, paintball has come a long way since its humble beginnings. Now, in addition to just about every kind of gun imaginable, there are numerous accessories that add to the fun and competitive spirit of the game. Many paintballers are as well-equipped as the U.S. military.

Spyder paintball guns were the first to be mass produced that were both affordable and durable. Their initial success began in the late 1990s with the Spyder Compact series. The Spyder Compact was feature rich compared to its predecessors. As the years have passed Spyder paintball technology has advanced rapidly giving today’s paintballer a variety of exciting choices.

Spyder MR1 Tactical Paintball Marker Gun SNIPER SET

If you want to dive into paintball in a big way then bundling your gun and accessories is a good idea. For example, the Spyder MR1 Tactical Paintball Marker Gun SNIPER SET gives you just about everything you need to not only play the game… but look like you are serious about winning. The set comes with:

An authentic Spyder MR1 Tactical marker

Complete paintball kit with marker, tank, loader, harness, extra paint tubes, and goggles

A 20 oz CO2 tank, 6+1 harness, & tubes, Gen X goggle system, gun case, gun oil, and a remote coil.

List price on the kit is $199 but you should be able to get it for around $140.

Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set

A lesser priced set is the Spyder Victor 09 Paintball Gun Marker Mega Set. The Spyder Victor has been redesigned to be 15% lighter and 10% shorter than prior models, sporting a revamped look and feel. A tool-free striker plug was developed to enable fast, simple maintenance in the field. With this set, you get everything you need to get started right out of the box. Include with the Victor marker:

20-ounce tank with pin valve

200-round hopper

Protective mask with visor and anti-fog lens

Six 140-round tubes

One-ounce Gold Cup oil

Jerk squeegee

Kingman Spyder MR4 Military Sims Semi-Auto Paintball Marker

If you prefer a military style paintball gun then the Kingman Spyder MR4 Military Sims Semi-Auto Paintball Marker is a good choice. At under $130 this marker gets high ratings from those who have purchased it. This gun features the extremely efficient EKO Valve System, capable of firing an impressive 1,800 shots from a single 20-ounce CO2 tank, which also reduces the recoil for smooth firing. The gun also comes with multiple Picatinny rails for numerous modifications. You can expect the MR4 to have an effective range of 200 feet and accuracy up to 150 feet.

If you are looking for a good beginner or intermediate paintball gun then Spyder paintball is a good place to start your search.
